PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
Roger joined the firm in 1974 and has spent his entire career with Christensen & Jensen specializing in civil litigation.  He spent the first fifteen years of his practice doing defense work and most of the balance of his career representing plaintiffs in personal injury, wrongful death, medical malpractice, insurance bad faith and a variety of other civil claims.  He has extensive experience not only in litigation, but in trial, having been lead trial counsel in a large number of jury trials.  Several of his cases have resulted in some of the largest plaintiffs’ verdicts in Utah trial history.  He is also a past president and past managing partner of the firm.

AREAS OF PRACTICE 
PERSONAL INJURY:  Has represented both plaintiffs and defendants in catastrophic personal injury and death actions.  
        • Represented minor child in a medical malpractice case which returned a jury 
           verdict of $8.1 million
        • Has represented several plaintiffs in matters returning verdicts in excess of $1 
          million. 
    
INSURANCE BAD FAITH:  Was co-lead trial counsel with L. Rich Humpherys for the plaintiffs in the landmark case of Campbell v. State Farm.  The jury returned a verdict in excess of $145 million, which was affirmed by the Utah Supreme Court in 2001 (65 P.3d 1134).  The case was ultimately decided by the United States Supreme Court in 2003; with the court setting aside the punitive damage portion of the judgment and remanding the case to the Utah Supreme Court for the entry of a smaller punitive damage award (538 U.S. 408).  The Utah Supreme Court then entered (in 2004) the maximum punitive damage judgment allowed by the U.S. Supreme Court (98 P.3d 409).
